This Investors Group Walk for Memories is dedicated to the memory of a special member of our community, Maurice Renwick.

Maurice RenwickBorn in Nelson in 1931, Maurice Renwick spent his life supporting and contributing to the hometown he loved. In 1952, Maurice married his life-long love Shiela-Marie, and together they had three children: Rae, Cal and Sandy. A prominent businessman, Maurice was a lifelong ambassador for the city. His passion for the Queen City led him to serve two terms on city council and a partnership with the now world-renowned Whitewater Ski Resort. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Nelson Gyro Club, Nelson Tramway Society, and was a great patron of the arts. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in the fall of 2003, he remained at home until the fall of 2005, when he moved to the Mountain Lakes Seniors Community where he lived until he passed away.
