Research is showing that certain lifestyle, nutritional and social factors influence the chance that a person will develop Alzheimer’s disease. Based on this research, keeping the brain fit is important.

The book The Okinawa Program, by Bradly J. Wilcox, D. Craig Wilcox and Makato Suzuki, looks at a long and reputable study on the diet and lifestyle of the occupants of Okinawa, Japan. The book says the study showed that more men than women were mentally active. What are the possible reasons for the difference?

The authors of the study provide no answer to this that we can find.
