Start your New Year's Resolutions early... by walking!
Feel good inside and out during this holiday season by registering and getting ready for this year’s Investors Group Walk for Memories, which will take place in 20 communities across British Columbia on January 30, 2011. Register online at www.walkformemories.com. Your participation will help support families across British Columbia who are living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
FAST FACTS:
- Currently more than 70,000 British Columbians are living with a form of dementia
- Nearly 10,000 of these British Columbians are baby boomers under the age of 65
- Age is still the greatest known risk factor for dementia and in 2011, the first baby boomer turns 65
- The 2010 Investors Group Walk for Memories raised over $600,000 across the province to support families in BC communities facing dementia build the skills and confidence to maintain quality of life, and brought the Society a step closer to finding a cure.
