Local soccer hero Bob Lenarduzzi has signed on to help raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. Lenarduzzi, who is president of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, worked with Shaw TV Vancouver to produce three television and radio PSAs in hopes of generating more attention to the realities of this devastating disease.
“The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is working to ensure families impacted by dementia get the support they need,” says Lenarduzzi. “They’re leading the way but it’s a team approach and I’m happy to be able to support their efforts by raising awareness in the general public about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.”

“Bob is so well loved by British Columbians, we’re thrilled that he is on board to help us raise awareness,” said Jean Blake, CEO, Alzheimer Society of B.C. “We want everyone to take care of their brain health and to be aware of the realities of Alzheimer’s disease because as our baby boomers are aging, dementia will be a growing issue for families.”
