Each of the
Walks is dedicated to an Honoree - a person who has been impacted by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.

This
Investors Group Walk for Memories is dedicated to
Richard Gustav Kostrzewa.
Richard Kostrzewa was born in Germany in 1926 and immigrated to Canada in 1950. He worked as a logger in Northern Manitoba before settling in B.C. where he began working for the Harrison Hotel in 1955. He married Dorothy a year later and they had two children, Richard Jr. and Karen. He worked at the hotel for 16 years and then as a bus driver for School District #33 until his retirement in 1991. Dorothy was a long-time City of Chilliwack Councillor, and is now retired.
Richard is a private and very friendly man and above all, a wonderful husband and father. He is an accomplished athlete who enjoyed swimming, soccer, badminton and squash. He was thrilled to participate in the BC Seniors’ Games in which he won medals for swimming.
Richard and his family - Dorothy, Karen, Len, Richard Kurt, Margaret, Richard Joseph and Stephanie - encourage everyone to walk with them to raise funds for education, support and research for Alzheimer’s disease.
Let’s get walking Fraser Valley - for Richard Kostrzewa and the more than 70,000 individuals and families in B.C. who are living with dementia.
