The two From Knowledge to Practice forums provided an opportunity to meet with like-minded people, to share your leadership and our common commitment to people whose lives are impacted by dementia.

Introductory comments of “From Knowledge to Practice: Improving Dementia Care and Services in B.C.”, a two-day learning forum - hosted by the Alzheimer Society of B.C. - that brought dementia-care experts and decision makers together.
"Are you ready for action? An introduction to Knowledge Mobilization" Peter Levesque, keynote speaker of “From Knowledge to Practice”, speaks about the concept of Knowledge Mobilization. This session presented a way to think about work and workplaces in a manner that helps to generate better linkages and exchange - ultimately, more value from significant investments of time, energy and dollars.
“Hearing the Voice of People Living with Dementia” was a panel discussion that, through the personal stories of panel members, presented the importance of listening to people living with dementia and supporting meaningful engagement in providing care, planning programs, and in policy development. Dr. Elisabeth Drance introduced and facilitated the session.
This video features (in order of appearance): Norma Selbie, Elaine Wright, Yolanda Bouwman and Lynn Jackson. Norma, Elaine and Lynn are all living with a diagnosis of dementia, while Yolanda cared for her father. This session was facilitated by Dr. Elisabeth Drance.

Dr. B. Lynn Beattie, Honorary Chair of “From Knowledge to Practice” summarizes some of the insights about dementia and dementia care that emerged during the forum.
