On Jan. 27, 2013 the Investors Group Walk for Memories celebrated its 10th anniversary in Kamloops. The Alzheimer Society of B.C. would like to thank the Caregivers pictured above, who have agreed to share their personal experiences of caregiving.
Each caregiver courageously embarks on their own unique journey and creates their own map of support. Representing the Kamloops Caregivers Support Group are Marcy, Gwen, Jenny, Geri, Bill, Janeen, Wade, Hilda and Jan.
The word courage can be defined as having mental or moral strength in doing something that you know is difficult, the courage to seek help and information, and to embrace the unknown. Families and Caregivers can receive confidential support, information and education from the Alzheimer Society of B.C. through Resource Centres throughout the province.
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. offers support to families in many ways. We provide educational workshops to help families manage throughout the dementia journey, support groups, one-on-one support, information brochures and teleworkshops.
Thanks for Walking Kamloops – for the more than 70,000 individuals and families in B.C. who are living with dementia.
