Each of the Walks is dedicated to an Honouree – a person who has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

This Investors Group Walk for Memories is dedicated to Blondie and Ken Terry.

The heart and soul of their family, Blondie and Ken Terry had deep roots in the city of Kamloops, and were well known in business, sports and community circles. The family grew and their bond strengthened. In the 1990’s the family found they were facing Alzheimer’s, the same disease that Blondie’s father had lived with.

As they wondered what their path with Alzheimer’s disease would look like, they felt at a loss. They turned to the vital resources of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. office in Kamloops.

“Our father, Ken, gained valuable tools to become a family caregiver, and was able to receive support from others on the same path,” said Blondie’s daughter. Now the Terry family finds that their roles are constantly changing. They continue to practise patience, laughter and gratitude, and are thrilled that their mother, Blondie, is the honouree for the Investors Group Walk for Memories.

Let’s get walking Kamloops—for Blondie, now in care at the Kamloops Seniors Village, and the 70,000 individuals and families in B.C. who are living with dementia.
