2011 TriCities Walk

Each of the Walks is dedicated to an Honouree – a person who has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

The 2011 TriCities Investors Group Walk for Memories was dedicated to Julien Boyer.

It was 1972 in a youth church group when Mary Alice met and fell in love with Julien (far left in the picture above). She recalls his kindness and generosity towards others, along with his ability to fix and make things. There are many fond memories associated with Julien’s creations over the years, including the most special item - the cradle for their first baby.

Being an inventor, and in addition to his incredible and enduring sense of humour, Julien is willing to try new ways of doing things, which helps him and his family cope, adapt, and keep living their lives in the face of new challenges.

Attending the Early Stage support group has been positive for Julien, Mary Alice says, "It is a place for him to go where he is offered acceptance, friendship and a safe place to explore his feelings".

The Boyers would like to thank their family, friends, community groups and the church for all the support they have received that has made their lives easier.
