David Walker joins the Alzheimer Society of B.C. as Director, Fund Development. He brings to the Society successful experience in non-profit leadership, including at the Heart House Hospice, Legacy Foundation, and World Vision, as well as, a record of multi-million dollar success in the Canadian donor community.
“I have a passionate belief in the life changing power of generosity,” said David, Director, Fund Development, Alzheimer Society of B.C. “The people of British Columbia are making a significant difference with their giving and we desire to grow that impact all across this province.”
David has relocated to Vancouver to join the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and to be closer to family at an important time for the organization. “Our baby boomer generation is aging, the incidence of dementia is increasing and the need of families impacted by the disease will grow,” said Jean Blake, CEO, Alzheimer Society of B.C. “David’s experience and contributions will help to ensure the Society is in a position to meet that growing need.”
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is the only province-wide organization providing support, education, and information about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia through support groups, telephone workshops, education programs, library resources, and the Dementia Helpline (In the lower mainland: 604.682.8651 or Toll-free: 1.800.936.6033). The Society also provides the voice for change in the delivery of dementia care in the province through its advocacy initiatives, and funds research to find the causes and cure for the disease.
