Ed Arnold, a past climber, has raised the bar for anyone who has climbed, or is thinking about climbing, 19,340 ft. on Mt. Kilimanjaro. Ed, at the age of 69, has done Ascent for Alzheimer’s twice for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. He climbed with his son in 2005 and most recently was part of the 2010 Team.

Ed is the only climber in the history of the event to claim this amazing accomplishment. He had climbed in memory of his mother and this year to honour close friends and is very passionate about the cause:

“I urge members of my generation to do all we can to help find a cure, especially so that our children won’t grow old with the fear that their lives may be impacted by Alzheimer’s disease. And, in reality, what other options do we have if we share this passion to find a cure, than to raise money for research and to fund support programs provided by the Society for victims of the disease and their caregivers?”

Ed ArnoldDo you have it to meet Ed’s challenge? Do you know someone who has it to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro?

We’re recruiting for the 2011 Ascent for Alzheimer’s Team. If you have it, sign up now or send your family and friends to the recruitment page.
