On September 18, you can help more than 64,000 British Columbians living with dementia by hosting a coffee break as part of the 13th annual Alzheimer Coffee Break™!

Want to get involved? It’s easy to host your own Coffee Break event! For information and ideas, contact Jenny Soukphamuong at 604-742-4923, or email jennys@alzheimerbc.org.

Coffee Break is a simple initiative where people gather over a cup of coffee at home or at work, and make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.

With your help, Coffee Break 2007 raised nearly $60,000 here in B.C. – and more than $1.27 million across the country. Through Alzheimer Society programs and services, these funds help families faced with dementia have the confidence and skills to maintain a high quality of life, and show people concerned about memory loss how they can age well.

You can make your event as big or as small as you like; offer tea and juice as well as coffee, or you can add cookies or pastries to increase donations!

Top Fundraiser
Congratulations to Joan Mayzes of Nanaimo for raising more than $5,100 with her 2007 Coffee Break event!

Best Display
The Circolo Abruzzese Club of Burnaby won the 2007 competition for Best Display (below), even making a giant Coffee up out of cupcakes!

In recent years, stores and restaurants have also come on board selling our Coffee Cup Cutouts, writing the donor’s name on it, and posting it on the wall to show their support.
