The journey to reach the summit reflects the mountainous struggles those with the disease and their caregivers face on a daily basis.
At 19,340 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the highest mountain on the continent of Africa.
More than 130 Canadians have literally climbed mountains in the fight against Alzheimer’s, reaching for the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro as part of Ascent for Alzheimer’s.
Ascent is a signature event for the Alzheimer Society of B.C., raising funds for programs and services that support thousands of individuals and families across the province who face Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia every day.
Dollars raised also help fund important research as we continue the search for the causes and the cure.
You can make a difference!
More than 64,000 British Columbians are living with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
By taking a few steps, you can help!
