This DVD is the first in a three part series of videos, which explores the unique challenges of living with Alzheimer’s disease as a home caregiver. The DVD addresses the practical aspects of every day activities in caring for someone with AD or a similar dementia.
The primary narrator is Phyllis Boynton, a nurse and a geriatric caregiver. Other featured narrators include a dentist and a professor who provide advice for the caregivers on topics such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, dental care, and incontinence. The film’s lecture-style of interviews is interspersed with visual examples focusing on one gentleman and his caregiver.
Due to the length of the film, the advice is limited to the basic requirements for care of a person with AD who primarily lives at home. This DVD provides clear straight-forward advice on the care of a person with AD that would be useful to family members and primary caregivers.
