Let’s face facts B.C.. There is a rising tide of dementia on the immediate horizon and yet in B.C. there is no strategy to manage the social and economic impact this will have on everyone.

Dementia is not an illness we can ignore: 178,000 British Columbians will be living with the disease by 2038.

Dementia exacts a toll on caregivers, families, and friends. Depression is a common effect of a caregiver’s burden.

Dementia exacts a toll on the health-care system. Dementia care costs $1.2 billion annually in B.C. Yet, there is no B.C. strategy to manage the effects of dementia.

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. needs the transforming power of your voice.

Be an Alzheimer Advocate and help ensure delivery of health services and community programs so that no person impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias is alone on their journey.
