With a national election coming up, you may want to know: what does your candidate know about Alzheimer's disease?

The economic burden of dementia in Canada, now at $15 billion a year, will increase tenfold to $153 billion. But currently Canada has no plan to tackle the impact of this devastating disease. Tell your candidate to support a national plan today for Canada’s dementia crisis. Governments of many other countries have taken concrete steps to study dementia and its consequences, and many have made dementia a national priority. Canada has yet to take these steps.

Canada needs a plan – a comprehensive, workable approach that dramatically improves the lives of people living with dementia. You can help! Write your candidates an open letter and send it to your local newspaper or favourite talk show. Attend an all candidates meeting or ask questions of canvassers. You can also use additional tools as they are posted on www.canadadementiacrisis.ca.

Be an advocate - sign up today and let your federal Member of Parliament know that you support the Alzheimer Society’s call for a national response to Canada’s dementia crisis.
