The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is one of the top fundraisers for the 2011 Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge – currently in third place out of over 40 participating charities!

Support Team Brainrunners and help us raise $25,000 this year!  For the fourth year, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is participating in the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5K, and we cannot do it without you. Run or walk for Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, June 26. Even if you can’t participate in person, your donations to the team will go towards education and support in local communities across British Columbia.

Registration and donating is quick and easy!

  1. If you commit to raising a minimum of $500 for the Society, we will pay your registration! To obtain your discount code, please email Janis McKell or call 604-742-4915 before you register. There are a limited number of free registrations, so first come, first serve!
  2. Register online for the Half-Marathon or 5K run/walk. This is the easiest way to register and you will receive an instant confirmation by e-mail. Participants who commit to fundraising will get the early-bird rate.
  3. Once you have successfully registered, you will receive a confirmation email of your entry from Eventsonline or Active and be directed to the online fundraising program. You can then create your own personal fundraising page and start collecting pledges for the Society. Each of the charities has an online pledging system set-up in support of the event!
Every dollar raised through the Group Charity Challenge goes to support British Columbians impacted by dementia through research, education, information and support.  Invite your friends, family and work colleagues to join you!

You can also support Team Brainrunners by donating to the team.

This is your chance to make a difference for the more than 70,000 people in B.C. living with dementia and the growing number of people concerned about brain health.

For further information email Vivianne de Pass, Special Events Officer for the Society.
