Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI), the London U.K.-based organization, is campaigning to get Alzheimer’s and other dementias on the agenda of global organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN). Add your voice to the UN Summit on Non Communicable Diseases between now and Jun. 10, 2011.
On Sept. 19-20, 2011 there will be a High-level Meeting at the UN about Non Communicable diseases and mental health. This currently focuses on cancers, heart and lung diseases and diabetes. Interested parties can contribute to the WHO online consultation that has just been launched and will feed into the final outcomes document. Comments from this consultation will also inform both the conduct of the UN Civil Society Hearing on Jun. 16, 2011 and the subsequent report on the outcomes of the hearing, which will be shared with Member States. http://www.who.int/nmh/events/2011/informal_hearing/en/index.html
