Teleworkshop: Understanding Dementia – Mar. 24 @ 7 p.m.

Family caregivers can prepare for the journey with dementia by understanding the way Alzheimer's disease progresses. Guest speaker Dr. Lynn Beattie will speak about the kinds of symptoms and reactions that are likely to arise throughout the different stages of the disease.

It’s easy to participate in this education forum wherever you are in B.C. or the Yukon, all you need is a phone. If you have access to high speed internet, you can also follow along with the online materials while you listen on the phone.

About Dr. Lynn Beattie

Dr. Beattie is Professor Emeritus, Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia. She is Director of the Clinic for Alzheimer Disease (AD) and Related Disorders at UBC Hospital and sees patients at this venue. In addition, Dr. Beattie is involved with a number of research activities. Other activities include participation in the Executive Committee of the BC Network for Aging Research and in the Centre for Research in Personhood in Dementia. Dr. Beattie is on the Board of the Alzheimer Society of Canada as Chair of the Research Policy Committee.
