The Alzheimer Society of B.C. presents a free Chinese Public Health Care Forum with Dr. Roger Wong on Saturday, Jan. 7 in Vancouver. Dr. Wong is a leading specialist in geriatric medicine, and will be speaking about Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and whether it can lead to dementia.

The forum will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. at the Choi Hall, 28 W. Pender St., in Vancouver.

The forum is free to the public and will be presented in Cantonese. Following the talk, participants are welcome to explore the interactive health booths facilitated by physicians.

About Dr. Roger Wong
Dr. Roger Wong, BMSc, MD, FRCPC, FACP, is the Assistant Dean, Faculty Development; Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine; and Associate Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Training Program all at UBC.

Dr. Wong is also a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine, Associate Medical Director of Medical Services and Head of Geriatric Consultation Program at the Vancouver Acute (VA) health service delivery area, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

Dr. Wong founded the state-of-the-art Acute Care for Elders Units (ACE) in VA, which has been implemented nationally and internationally. His clinical research focuses on hospital medicine in vulnerable older adults, including quality improvement in acute care geriatrics. Dr. Wong is currently Vice President of the Canadian Geriatrics Society.
