On Thursday, Sept. 15 the Alzheimer Society of B.C. held a farewell celebration for the 2011 Ascent for Alzheimer's team at Monk McQueens Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bar in False Creek. Family and Society staff and board members joined the team of nine to celebrate their departure at the end of September to Tanzania, Africa. On Sept. 26 they will begin their ascent of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain on the continent of Africa at 19,340 ft.

To date the 2011 team has raised $119,000 close to reaching the $150,000 goal!
