Not only did the weather hold out for Paul Ding’s recent Pedal for Memories charity event, the event also surpassed its $5,000.00 goal. The event was held on Sat. Jul. 2 at Central Park in Burnaby, had over 100 attendees and raised $6,065.50.

But somehow, Karin McMorland describes it simply and eloquently. “It hurts your heart, it’s an actual physical pain and you catch a breath. Sept. 21, 2009  35 million people living with dementia in 2010
The prevalence of dementia worldwide will nearly double every 20 years to 65.7 million in 2030 and 115.4 million in 2050. The new statistics come from the World Alzheimer Report, released today as part of World Alzheimer’s Day. More than 70,000 British Columbians are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia and nearly 10,000 of these individuals are under the age of 65.  (Read more...)
