Each of the Walks is dedicated to an Honoree – a person who has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

This Investors Group Walk for Memories is dedicated to Vic Golinsky.

Vic Golinsky grew up in Edmonton, Alta., where he received his education in Construction Technology. He, his wife Trudy and their two children relocated to Victoria in 1975, where Vic started Brit Contracting. He later took a position managing the University of Victoria’s construction projects until his retirement in 1998.

Vic has been a leader in the community of Gordon Head, coaching soccer and baseball. In addition to being a music aficionada, Vic loves salmon fishing and travelling. He has a passion for cars as past president of the Thunderbird Car Club. He especially enjoys time with his grandson Brody, watching while Brody plays with Vic’s vast collection of model cars.

Vic and Trudy are very involved with the Society, having attended workshops, education series, day programs, and support groups and are active participants in Minds in Motion™.

Vic continues to golf, dance and play poker with friends, and is always ready to coax a laugh out of others with his ever present smile and sense of humour.

Let's get walking Victoria – for Vic Golinsky and the more than 70,000 individuals and families in B.C. who are living with dementia.
