Each of the Walks is dedicated to an Honouree – a person who has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

This Investors Group Walk for Memories was dedicated to Bruce Wilkinson.

Donald “Bruce” Wilkinson lived and worked in the Lower Mainland before settling in Chilliwack with his wife Louise. Caring father to two sons, a stepson and four grandchildren, Bruce worked in the liquor distribution industry until his retirement in 1997. He also received his commission with the Westminster Regiment of the Cadet Corps of Canada.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2005, he quickly began a medication program that significantly delayed its progression. He continues to live an active life, regularly hiking the Rotary Trail. Without the support of Alzheimer’s research, this would not be possible.

This is your opportunity to show Bruce you care.

“Bruce is humbled at having been chosen as this year’s honouree for the Investors Group Walk for Memories,” said Louise Wilkinson. “He is a man of great integrity and will be participating in this year’s Walk with his family and his special walking stick.”
