Need help raising money? Here’s a quick list of proven fundraising tips and ideas to get you started!

Set A Fundraising Goal:
Use the quick and easy online registration to set and monitor your goal - and keep all your contacts updated about how you are doing. Your supporters will enjoy being part of your challenge.

Fundraise Online:
Don’t just limit yourself to fundraising through contacts you see face to face. Get in touch with people in BC, across Canada and around the world by sending them your personal fundraising webpage via e-mail.

To get started, Register Now to sign up. You can write a few words about yourself and presto, your page will be generated! And you can send your page address to your contacts so they can donate.

Start With Family And Friends:

Send e-mails or ask friends, family, and neighbours to support you! Use the online fundraising tools to keep track of people you have sent e-mails asking for sponsorship and see who has already sponsored you.

Get Others Involved:
Be creative and think of businesses you frequent like restaurants, dentist and doctor’s offices, hair salon, or gym and ask them to support you.

Ask. Ask. Ask. Ask. Ask:
And ask again!

Share The Walk:

Talk to people about the walk, tell them why you are participating and how their donation benefits others.

Tell Your Story:
Personalize your online “My Donor Page” on the website. Let friends and family know why you are participating by posting a personal picture and letter for online donators to view.

Throw A Fundraising Party:
This is a great opportunity to talk to people about the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and the Investors Group Walk for Memories and why you are trying to raise money. Host a garage sale, neighbourhood yard sale or a bake sale and put the profits towards your donations!

Follow Up:
People are busy, don’t hesitate to remind potential sponsors how easy it is to sponsor online!

Say Thank You!
Thank those who have sponsored you and update them on your fundraising efforts.
