Caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is a demanding and sometimes difficult journey, requiring hard work, patience and compassion.
Caregivers may be spouses, children, family members, or paid professionals, but they are all unsung heroes who persevere in the face of this disease.
Caregiving is ongoing and usually round-the-clock. Caregivers work tirelessly and the work they do is invaluable.
"Mom may not remember recent accomplishments, but is happy ‘in the moment’ and I’ve learned to say ‘see you later’ instead of ‘see you tomorrow’," said Barbara Ann who helps care for her mother.
